![]() ![]() this cycle continues as the playerbase dwindles until it really is a dead game. Self fulfilling prophecy: as the game loses players people post "dead game" people who don't own the game see that its a "dead game" and don't buy it. so if you hop on the game to mash a button online and get stomped by 50-80% damage combos you will probably not want to play again. as the playerbase dwindles the number of people who remain and know what they are doing starts to slowly make up the majority of the online playerbase. they get absolutely crushed online by people who know what they are doing. easy beat: not overpowered in any way, but this mechanic encourages people to hop online while only knowing how to mash one button. ![]() lackluster single player content: devoid of any narrative the offline modes can be completed relatively quickly and the disconnected mission based unlock structure encourages people to play the missions that unlock what they want and to not play the missions that they don't care about which will further quicken the pace that some people feel they have completed what they want to out of that mode. Transmitting error: what is the point of playing ranked if your gonna eventually stack disconnects on your record out of your control? this discourages people playing ranked netcode: is archaic and feels like sludge unless you kick people who don't have perfect connections with you some of the main causes for the game's dwindling playerbase: in-fact on the list of reasons why the game is dying i'm not sure that it makes the top 3. Its definitely not JUST because of the price. ![]()
